Ascend Airways Malaysia Advances AOC Process, Targets November Launch
Ascend Airways Malaysia, a new Kuala Lumpur-based airline under the Avia Solutions Group has reached a significant milestone by progressing to Phase 3 of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) application.
This step brings the airline closer to launching its cargo operations in November 2025. The carrier’s commercial passenger services will follow shortly after.
As the airline prepares to offer ACMI and charter solutions, it aims to support the growing aviation demands in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Progress Towards Commercial Launch
In 2024, Ascend Airways Malaysia secured its Conditional Air Service Permit (CASP) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM). Since then, the airline has worked closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to complete the rigorous AOC process.
Now in its final stages, Ascend Airways Malaysia expects to begin full flight operations by the end of 2025. This progress reflects the airline’s commitment to establishing a strong presence in the regional aviation market.
The airline’s operational plan includes both cargo and passenger services. Its first Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft is set to arrive in Malaysia in the third quarter of 2025.
This aircraft will play a key role in securing the full AOC and launching cargo operations. Following this, two additional Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft will join the fleet—one by late 2025 and another in early 2026.
These additions will enable Ascend Airways Malaysia to meet the rising demand for flexible aviation solutions.
