Lufthansa Flight LH510 – Frankfurt to Ezeiza – Asuncion Diversion…

Lufthansa flight LH510, which made the diversions in Asuncion and emergency landing in Sao Paulo, departed Frankfurt on July 7 at 2229 local time bound for Ezeiza.
Everything was pretty routine in the flight until the descent into destination.
However, due to heavy fog, this was where things would begin to transpire.
After multiple holds near the Argentinian airport, the Boeing 747-8 had to divert to Asuncion in Paraguay as they were coming to their reserves on fuel.
The aircraft diverted successfully to the Paraguayan airport, and remained there for a brief time.
Emergency Landing in Sao Paulo…

Lufthansa flight LH510, originally from Frankfurt, departed once again from Asuncion, with the Boeing 747 attempting to land again at Ezeiza.
Once again, the aircraft entered a series of holds and then all of a sudden diverted away.
The aircraft went on a significant diversion through Uruguay and Brazil.
Moreover, the decision was then made to divert to Sao Paulo, which included an emergency broadcast, which happened in the last few hours.
This could have been due to a low-fuel emergency following the flight that it had done.
Furthermore, it is understood that the Boeing 747 landed safely into the Brazilian airport following the 7700 declaration.
What Happens Next?
At the time of publication, D-ABYM, the Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 that has effectively flown from Frankfurt to Asuncion, Ezeiza and Sao Paulo, remains on the ground in the Brazilian airport.
Furthermore, with a diversion as significant as this, the airline will need to re-align the aircraft back into the operation.
Lufthansa does operate commercial flights to Frankfurt from Sao Paulo, so it is likely this aircraft will be placed on the LH507 service.
However, it is unclear what has happened with the passengers affected by what is significant disruption to their flight.
As soon as we have more information on this, then we will update you accordingly.
