Emirates Unveils Cutting-Edge Flight Crew Training Centre in Dubai
Emirates has launched a state-of-the-art flight crew training centre in Dubai, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and growth in the aviation industry.
This advanced facility, spanning 63,318 square feet, is designed to train pilots for Emirates’ expanding fleet, including the Airbus A350 and the upcoming Boeing 777X.
Strategically located near other Emirates training hubs, the centre strengthens Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub while fostering professional development for employees.
A Game-Changing Facility
The Emirates Crew Training Centre, backed by a AED 500 million investment, is a game-changer for aviation training. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, highlighted its significance.
“This centre sets new standards in aviation training and supports Dubai’s rise as a global aviation hub. The investment is already delivering value, with pilots and instructors praising the facility’s capabilities.”
The centre houses six full-flight simulator bays, with two Airbus A350 simulators already operational. Four additional simulators, including those for the Boeing 777X, will be added in the coming years.
Once fully operational, the facility will offer 17 simulators, including 11 for A380s and Boeing 777s, boosting Emirates’ training capacity by 54%. This expansion will provide 130,000 training hours annually for up to 1,000 pilots per simulator.
Innovative Technology for Enhanced Training
The centre introduces groundbreaking technology, including the Pilot Support Station (PSS), a first-of-its-kind system developed in-house. The PSS allows pilots to configure their flight deck and build flight plans in an immersive environment before training sessions.
This streamlines preparation, enabling pilots to focus on maximizing learning outcomes. Training sessions are recorded, allowing instructors to review and refine performance, further enhancing the training experience.
Additionally, the facility features advanced 3D printing capabilities to produce complex training equipment components. This innovation saves Emirates up to AED 1 million annually, showcasing the centre’s efficiency and forward-thinking design.
World-Class Training Standards
Emirates’ commitment to excellence is evident in the centre’s achievements. The first A350 full-flight simulator earned a Level D qualification—the highest rating—from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Notably, it achieved this at Airbus A350 Standard 1.3 with zero findings, a rare accomplishment in the industry.
Pilots undergo rigorous, evidence-based, and competency-focused training with highly skilled instructors. The centre includes four spacious classrooms for recurrent, conversion, and command training courses, ensuring comprehensive skill development.

The new training centre aligns with Emirates’ ambitious growth plans. As the world’s largest international airline, operating the biggest fleets of A380s and Boeing 777s, Emirates is expanding its pilot recruitment.
