KCET Counselling 2025 starts; how to avail optional entry on cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and more
To do this, candidates must scan the QR code provided in their verification slip, using the link available on the KEA portal. This login will give you access to the option entry system where you can start listing your choices.
While the complete counselling schedule will be announced soon on the official website (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in), the KCET seat matrix for engineering and agriculture courses has already been published.
For the first round of BTech admissions, 77,068 engineering seats are available across Karnataka. Counselling for agriculture courses will fill 3,350 seats, according to the round 1 matrix.
The KCET 2025 results are out, and counselling has officially kicked off. This is the critical stage where your rank, preferences, and eligibility determine which college and course you’ll join.
Step-by-Step guide to KCET 2025 counselling
Stage 1: Document Verification
If you haven’t done this already, visit your assigned KEA verification centre with all required documents neatly arranged. After verification, you’ll receive a verification slip and a secret login code.
Stage 2: Web Option Entry (Ongoing Now)
Using your login credentials, start entering your preferred colleges and courses. You can select as many options as you wish, and list them in your exact order of priority. Before finalising, review college cutoffs, location, and placement records.
Stage 3: Mock Allotment
KEA will release a mock allotment list showing how your choices are likely to play out. This is your chance to make changes—edit, rearrange, or add options to improve your chances.
Stage 4: First Round Seat Allotment
Once the final allotment is declared, you will have four options:
- Choice 1: Accept the seat, pay the fee, and exit counselling.
- Choice 2: Hold the seat and also participate in the next round.
- Choice 3: Reject the seat and try again in Round 2.
- Choice 4: Withdraw entirely from the process.
Round 2 and Extended Round
Round 2 is open to students who selected Choice 2 or 3. During the Extended Round, all candidates can revise or delete their options. If you are allotted a seat in this round, you must join, or your fee will not be refunded.
