Volaris A319 Suffers Runway Excursion on Landing at Mexico City
A Volaris Airbus A319-100 arriving at Mexico City Felipe Angeles from Tijuana suffered a runway excursion during the landing on 13 February.
Volaris flight Y43296, operated by an Airbus A319-100, was conducting an arrival from Tijuana International Airport (TIJ).

The aircraft was cleared for a landing on runway 04L Mexico City Felipe Angeles Airport (NLU). As the aircraft decelerated during the landing roll, it lost directional control and veered to the right.
The aircraft then overran the right-hand runway edge before coming to a stop. The runway excursion resulted in the aircraft stopping with all landing gear legs on soft ground.
No injuries were reported as a result of the runway excursion incident. An aerodrome weather report valid for the time of landing showed light winds. Visibility at the time of the report was reduced due to haze.

Flight data shows that the flight Y43296 had made an on-time departure from Tijuana International Airport at 1943 local time on 12 February.
Following the departure, the flight then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL370 four the south-easterly service to Mexico City. Descent and approach procedures were similarly conducted normally in accordance with air traffic control clearances.
The aircraft involved in the Mexico City runway excursion was an Airbus A319-100, registered VA-VOC. This is an 18.2 year old narrow body aircraft belonging to the carrier Volaris.
It has been operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in January 2007.
Volaris is a Mexican low-cost airline that was founded in 2005. It is the largest airline in Mexico by the number of passengers transported, and it serves domestic and international destinations within the Americas.
Volaris has several major hubs, including Guadalajara International Airport, Mexico City International Airport, and Tijuana International Airport.
